Galenica is a leading group of companies in the Swiss healthcare market, which develops, manufactures, and distributes pharmaceuticals as well as operates pharmacies and offers logistics services. Switzerland's largest pharmacy network sells its own as well as exclusive and partner brands via three channels. The first online shop, Amavita.ch, has recently been launched with the help of W4. It is not the first collaboration - W4 has already realized the Amavita Mobile App.

Easy data management thanks to Akeneo PIM

Maintaining and updating product information can waste a lot of time. A central system for product information management, such as Akeneo, can facilitate this activity tremendously. Product data, ERP data, images, and videos from various sources can be processed across departments. All connected databases are updated in real time. Thus, double data maintenance becomes a thing of the past. This simplifies the work on the company's side and improves the user experience on the customer side, who always benefit from up-to-date product information. Another advantage of the Open Source software is the excellent export characteristics to make the product information available for online shops and other sales channels.

In addition to the implementation of the Akeneo PIM, W4 also realized the Amavita online shop with the open source software Magento 2. The big advantage: It is easy to integrate your own extensions so that the eShop can be perfectly tailored to the needs of Amavita. This benefits both employees and customers alike.

Among others, we implemented extensions that:

  1. Enable a fast check-out process: If customers have added products to the shopping cart, they do not have to click through several pages to complete the order. Shipping and payment information can be entered and viewed on a single page.
  2. Create daily sales reports: Amavita always has an overview of sales. Daily sales reports are created via an extension - completely automatically and without any effort.
  3. Integrate the StarCard: Customers of Amavita receive special offers and discounts with the StarCard. They also benefit from their StarCard when shopping online.
  4. Show locations: People who are outside in the city would rather do the shopping around the corner instead of ordering online. That is, customers can filter Amavita locations not only by distance, but also by topic. Through the integration of Google Maps, they easily find the right shop in no time.
