The Corniches app for iPhone by Vitra is now available online via the Apple Store / iTunes. We were designed to accompany the furniture manufacturer, well-known for its sophisticated and functional designs, from the conception phase to the programming stage of a sales-related promo app.

The result was the creation of an augmented reality. This augmented reality directly links Corniches' wall accessories with the personal environment of the interested target group, thus increasing sales opportunities.

Corniches are the new shelves, created by French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Vitra, where all the cherished possessions and practical items one loves to surround oneself with can find a home.

With the Corniches app, each Corniches size and colour can be visualized in 3D. How would the practical 'Corniches' shelves look in your own home? Virtual furnishing has rarely been so nice and easy. This is because, unlike conventional 3D space planners, these are one's own rooms that each person can design individually. Here's how: 

1. Download the app from the App Store.
2. Take a photo of the wall.
3. Calibrate the proportions.
4. Select the type and colour of the Corniches and place them anywhere on the image using touch controls.
5. Arrange decorative elements on it, such as books, cruets, art work.
6. You're now ready to share your design with the world.

The configuration can be easily shared directly with friends or on Facebook. If you like the app will send a shopping list of selected Corniches directly to your nearest Vitra dealer.

The native app is perfect for the promotion of these fine Corniches wall elements and has been available in English for iPhone since January 2013.
