The exciting year of 2018 now lies behind us. Christmas prepares one for the end of the year. The same goes for the W4-team: our Christmas party was, however, anything but contemplative. Indeed, it has been exciting, culinary, joyful and chatty instead. Our meeting place was Bratislava. After all colleagues from our offices in Zurich, Heidelberg, Shanghai and Dresden had checked into the hotels, we met for the big and warm reunion in the national wine saloon Národný salón vín. We thus started the evening with a wine tasting featuring typical Slovakian wines.
After this, a bus took us to our next station, the kitchen studio Chefparade, where we were separated into teams. After a short introduction, we were ready for preparing delicate dishes with our colleagues. Among others, we created Quesadillas with guacamole, spaetzle with sauerkraut and bacon, creamy pumpkin soup and as for the dessert, we had pancakes with strawberries – simply tasty!
Just as the tradition demands it, of course there were presents as well. As in the last years, the white elephant gift exchange (commonly known as “Schrottwichteln” in German) produced loads of presents – some were amazing while others were extremely hilarious.
Another highlight definitely was the crash course on how to prepare beef-steaks. The head chef showed us on a piece of extra delicate premium meat how to cut, prepare and roast steaks to get them to be deliciously tender and juicy. Of course, we were also allowed to taste the results – a real treat!
Our last station of the Christmas party was the popular club Barrock, where we spent the rest of the evening in good company and a great atmosphere.
