If we send our developers from all W4 locations to Bratislava (if they are not already working on site), there is usually a hackathon on the agenda. June 26th and 27th were great to renew the challenge. Two teams rented a work space in a hotel for two days, closed the curtains - and off they went to develop a new Progressive Web App with push-messaging and availability in offline mode.
The task was set for a fictitious, yet real business stakeholder, according to whose design specifications and requirements the app was to be programmed. A cluster of requirements in terms of functionality, usability and design was taken into account in the team pitches.
The team, which had a more elaborate design, won the challenge with a leading edge. Both had the same web functions.
We congratulate all participants on their excellent ideas, teamwork and the results they accomplished under pressure. Certainly, the prospect of a brand new espresso machine was the driving force.
